About Us
How we began
Wilder Minds CIC was formed in 2021 as the 'human' side of our wildlife charity. Wild Things Rescue is a Registered Charity helping sick, injured and orphaned wildlife within Lincolnshire. However, over the years we've been lucky enough to see how wildlife and nature can help humans too. It seems to be a two way thing!
The modern world is so concerned with the future and where you're heading that we often forget about the here and now. Studies show that being around nature and wildlife can have a really positive impact on our mental health and this is certainly what we've seen when watching volunteers and members of the public interact with wildlife.
We took the leap and started putting more effort into the human side of our work. We wanted to look after our volunteers and we wanted to inspire people to see what's right outside their door. And there, Wilder Minds was born.

How are we funded?
We have worked really hard to build our reputation and this year the National Lottery agreed to fund a two year project with us! This funding will enable us to bring a whole host of new opportunities in 2024 including forest schools and nature sessions! The funding allows us to offer these at a reduced cost (or completely free!) so that those who are struggling financially can benefit. Keep an eye out for more updates!
Our mission
Our mission is to reconnect people with nature and show them the strength they can gain from tiny things like little seedlings and birds flying by. We want to ignite a passion in people to not only help the natural world, but themselves too.
